Meet your instructor

Dubbing Expert

Giselle Spiteri Miggiani, Ph.D., is a tenured lecturer in the Department of Translation, Terminology, and Interpreting Studies at the University of Malta, and is the founder and coordinator of the audiovisual translation postgraduate specialisation stream. She is also an audiovisual translator and dubbing dialogue writer since 2006. She is regularly invited to deliver lectures and talks at conferences and other universities and provides training and consultancy to global leading stakeholders and EU Institutions. She taught at the Università degli Studi di Torino, University College London, Universidad de Sevilla, University of Roehampton, ISTRAD, Universidad Europea, University of Essex, La Sapienza di Roma, Council of the EU, EU Parliament. She is the author of the book Dialogue writing for dubbing. An insider’s perspective (Palgrave Macmillan, 2019), among other journal articles and chapters. Her research interests focus on cloud dubbing technologies, quality in dubbing, Italian and English language dubbing, and inclusive arts and media. Her current impact research focuses on the development of audiovisual translation and integrated access in Malta's media and cultural sectors.
